Mercer County Rodent Control Program

The Mercer County Rodent Control Program, administered by the Mercer County Regional Planning Commission provides baiting, trapping and educational services to residents of participating municipalities in the County.

The program was initially started in 1972 with a grant from the PA Department of Environmental Resources (now PA DEP) serving only the Shenango Valley at that time.  Within a few years the program expanded to serve the entire Mercer County and was funded through state grants and county funds.  In 1980 the County became responsible for the entire funding of the program and in 1993 the program was cut from the County budget.  Since that time, municipalities are contacted each fall and offered the program on an annual per capita fee basis.  Currently, there are 11 municipalities in the program.

Who Ya Gonna Call?  To obtain service in participating municipalities, contact the Mercer County Regional Planning Commission (724) 981-2412 and an appointment will be scheduled.
